Monster crabs
Monster crabs
No reviews
Red king crabs arrived in Europe. Huge, and with no natural predators, they competed with cod for food and had a massive impact on ocean food webs.
In this activity students build up ocean food webs before and after the monster crab invasion. If you wish, they then take the role of a fish company manager who must decide how to react to the invasion.
Learning objective
- Students will build up an ocean food web and look at the impact of invading red king crabs on this.
