Better curriculum inspections
In the new inspection framework, Ofsted is going to look deep into your curriculum. Let's hope they discover it to be well designed, broad and deep. The good news is that, if you use the Blueprint 5-year plan, or the Complete Mastery course, your science curriculum fulfils Ofsted's criteria. Several schools have received very positive feedback from the inspectors on their curriculum:
"The Blueprint 5-year plan showed the Ofsted inspector that we have a clear vision for our science curriculum - centred around the big ideas and spiralled so that each year builds on previous learning. She was really impressed."
John Farrant, Greig City Academy:
“The approach is planned with rigour, based on best practice research”
“The Mastery approach supports students in developing their understanding of key concepts”
“The key knowledge students are expected to learn and to retain is documented, as well as the scientific skills”
“Assessment is an integral part of the provision, with skills based assessment at the end of each topic."
