Scientists have long theorised that there is a black hole in the centre of our galaxy but proof in the form of an image was only released recently, and it got astrophysicists pretty excited! This starter activity engages your students with this topical news story as well as provides an opportunity for them to apply their knowledge of gravitational force. Also provided are teacher instructions on how to use the discussion technique: think, pair share.
